The brief
Udon asked us to create the visual identity for the Asian Culinary Awards Fest, the gala at which, year after year, it recognises the best professionals and restaurants in Asian cuisine.
It needed a festive, recognisable image that could be rolled out across all kinds of media —stage design, photocall, badges, uniforms, certificates, table signage— always maintaining brand consistency and the celebratory tone of an awards gala.
The solution
We built a graphic system around a monogram A, folded like origami, which gives the Asian Culinary Awards a name and a face: a distinctive, solid symbol that's recognisable at a glance and works on its own or alongside the Udon logo.
We added a magenta-to-violet gradient and fine-line iconography —chopsticks, gyozas— that evokes Asian cuisine without falling into cliché, and brings energy and movement to every application.
We rolled this system out across every piece of the event: the auditorium screen and stage set, the photocall, badges and lanyards, access wristbands, chef's uniforms, certificates showing the prize amounts and the jury's table cards.
The result is a gala with its own identity, festive and consistent from top to toe —from the stage to every guest's lapel— that reinforces Udon as the go-to host for Asian cuisine.
